About the firm

Our client is an institutional broker-dealer / hedge fund providing investment banking and capital markets services to corporate clients, financial sponsors, and institutional investors.


The firm delivers strategic advisory and tailored capital solutions across a range of transactions, including M&A, equity offerings, structured financings, and will be deploying capital as a merchant bank.


The firm is seeking an equity research associate with 1-2 years experience to support execution. You will play a key role in analysis, transaction execution, and the preparation of client materials, working closely with senior analysts while collaborating with your team to ensure high-quality deliverables across engagements.

 

About the role

Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and forecast detailed company earnings models (P&L, cash flow statement, and balance sheet)
  • Develop and apply analytical tools to extract insights, extrapolate trends, and evaluate scenarios
  • Cultivate relationships with company executives and industry contacts
  • Develop a deep knowledge base in and understanding of energy, industrials, and power ecosystems; other sectors to follow
  • Synthesize, write, and edit factual content for research reports with deadlines
  • Communicate with both internal and external clients


Desired Background:

  • 1-2 years of experience in equity or fixed income research (buy- or sell-side)
  • Existing possession or willingness to obtain FINRA SIE
  • (Securities Industry Essentials): Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 licenses
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Excel for company modeling and financial analysis
  • Industrious and resilient work ethic with a team-oriented mindset
  • Efficient, clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with Python and Al assistants is a plus
  • Hybrid initially with a varying requirement to commute into NYC
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable approach to work.
