About the firm:

Our client is alternative credit asset manager primarily focused on opportunities in the residential mortgage-backed (RMBS) and asset-backed (ABS) securities markets. The firm utilizes drawdown, private-equity style vehicles, evergreen funds, as well as managed accounts to deploy capital across both liquid securitized assets and less liquid opportunities using deep credit and indenture analysis.

The firm is is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead fundraising and marketing efforts. You will manage relationships with existing and new investors in order to facilitate the firm's growth. Our client is looking for a strong relationship-builder with a good understanding of credit and fixed income markets and familiarity with fund terms, vehicle structures, and market norms.


About the role

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage relationships with prospective and existing investors across institutional, family office and HNW channels.
  • Support fundraising efforts from initial outreach through diligence, follow-up, and closing.
  • Represent the firm at conferences, investor meetings, and industry events.
  • Help institutionalize the firm's pitch materials, presentations, messaging, and investor communications.
  • Build and maintain a disciplined CRM and pipeline management process, with clear tracking of prospects, activity, and next steps.
  • Work with senior leadership to translate investor feedback into stronger positioning, outreach strategy, and product communication.


Desired Background:

  • 10-20 years of experience in Business Dev., Capital Formation, Investor Relations, or an allocator-facing role within Private or Alternative Credit.
  • 3+ years of hands-on team management experience.
  • Fluency in credit markets, including concepts such as liquidity terms, lock-ups, fees, gates, redemptions, SMAs, drawdown structures, and related LP considerations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to help build infrastructure as the firm grows.
  • Organized and process-oriented, with strong follow-through.
  • Comfort with wearing multiple hats in a lean team environment.
